High School

Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year

At the high school we can be very proud of the FCAT results as most students saw learning gains and grade level achievements. In the area of reading, our ninth grade students achieved 64% at level 3 or higher. This is a 2% increase from 2007. Our tenth graders saw a 17%% increase in achievement level in the area of reading. In the area of mathematics, 94% of our ninth graders received a level 3 or higher which is a 9% increase from the previous year. Tenth graders increased from 79% to 85% this year. Congratulations to all of the teachers for assisting students throughout the year to achieve this level of excellence. We continue to make "Excellence our Standard"!

We just received our Advanced Placement (AP) scores and we continue to increase the percentage of students scoring at a high level. This year 43% of our AP students scored in the 3-5 range which is an increase of 4% more than 2007.

Summer brings some rest but for the most part we are moving forward to prepare for a great 2008-2009 school year. Ninth grade orientation is scheduled for 2 sessions beginning in July. We want all of our new freshmen to be prepared as they enter their high school years.
Session I - July 21 - 24
Session II - July 28 - 31
This is Monday - Thursday, 8:00am - 12:00pm

Thank you to all of the parents and community members that assisted during the school year. Your assistance is critical in educating our students.

School begins for students on August 18 at 8:00am!

I am looking forward to a wonderful 2008-2009 school year and continue to reach out to parents and the community to make this an even more successful school year.
