Cosmos is a group of stuudents that want to make a diffrence in our community.  Cosmos stands for           "Conservation Organization of Minds Of Students".  It was named by Carl Sagan who has written a           book.  This year Leon High school went and helped the Northwest Water Management District and           the "Help Keep Tallahassee Beautiful" organizations do a community clean up Lake Jackson.  this was           a great activity for families, groups, and if you dared to do it by yourself.   This spring we were asked to help restore a barren understory of longleaf pine at the local Tallahassee Museum.   The staff at the Nature Conservancy, Tall Timbers, and a local forester Stan Rosenthal will help educate our students in this endeavor.  It will take several years to put all the kinds of grasses and prescribed burning in place
