- NEWTON'S LAWS OF MOTION Name and draw a picture of a ride that
uses each.
-
- 1. First Law of Motion:
- A body remains at rest unless a force makes it move. A force
is required to change the speed or direction of a moving body.
- 2. Second Law of Motion:
- Acceleration of a body increases as the amount of force
producing the acceleration increases. The larger the mass of the
body, the larger the force needed to produce acceleration. (Force
= Mass x Acceleration)
- 3. Third Law of Motion:
- For every force, there is an equal and opposite force.
- (The two forces that always act together are called action
force and reaction force.)
- Centripetal force is a force that keeps a body in a curved
path. It acts toward the center of the curve.
- An example is ______________
