911 EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
If a student is determined to have a life threatening injury or illness, emergency medical personnel will be notified immediately. A parent or guardian will then be notified and advised of the action taken and other pertinent information. If a parent requests that 911 is to be called, the parent's request will be honored.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- FEVERS, VOMITING OR DIARRHEA. Students with a temperature of 100 degrees or greater or vomiting due to illness or diarrhea, will be sent home and advised to seek medical attention. Students should be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school.
- COMMUNICABLE CONDITIONS. Students with any suspected condition such as pink-eye, chicken pox, head lice, ring worm or other illness will be sent home and advised to see a physician before returning to school.
- ELEVATOR KEYS.Any student requiring use of the elevator may obtain a key from a clinic staff member upon providing:
- Written doctors excuse
- Completion of Student Elevator Key Form
- $10.00 key deposit Deposits will be refunded when key is returned.
- EARLY RELEASE DUE TO ILLNESS. Students can be released from the clinic to authorized person due to illness. Clinic staff will notify attendance office.
MEDICATIONS
(See Back-To-Packet) There is one copy of the MEDICATION POLICY FOR FSUS STUDENTS and PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION PERMISSION FORM. These forms were developed to allow the clinic staff or authorized persons to assist students and maintain continuity regarding prescribed medication usage during school hours. All medication usage, prescription or over the counter, requires completion of the medication permission form and adherence to the medication policy.
SCREENING PROGRAMS
Scoliosis, vision, audiometric, height and weight screenings for specific grade level students will be conducted in accordance to Florida law. In addition, faculty referrals can be made as needed for vision and hearing screenings.

Insurance Agency.
SPECIAL HEALTH NEEDS OR CONCERNS
Any student with special health needs or concerns is advised to contact a clinic staff member for possible assistance or referral to the appropriate faculty or administrative staff member.
