It is the aim of the social science program at Florida State University School (FSUS) to develop awareness in students which will lead to an understanding and appreciation of their culture and heritage as well as of the world in which they live. The students have opportunities for individual selfdevelopment leading to a more satisfying and meaningful role as active citizens in a democratic society.
Our mission in the Social Studies area at FSUS is to develop well-educated citizens who share a body of knowledge, preserve a set of values, understand common cultural allusions, and are prepared to participate both in their families, their communities, and in the competitive, global work place of the 21st century.
