Band
Membership in this group is open to anyone in the High School and participation in the marching band is mandatory. This group consistently performs literature, which requires the utmost in concentration and musical dedication. The High School Wind Ensemble performs at all FBA assessment events and several concerts throughout the year.
Marching Band
The Marching Braves are made up of High School and Middle School band students full of pride and energy. The Braves perform at all home football games and attend several away games throughout the season.
Percussion Techniques
This unique performance opportunity emphasizes solo and ensemble percussion playing. Membership in this group is by instructor approval only.

Chorus
- Vocal production - Students will be taught to sing on pitch with an open natural tone that will promote healthy singing for the rest of their lives.
- Music Literature- Students will be taught an appreciation for music from many different cultures and time periods. The students will sing very diverse music including songs from our own culture and time.
- Sight - Singing-Students will be able to sight read melodies in four part harmony using solfege.
- Rhythm - Students will be able to perform rhythmic passages with precision.
- Choral balance -Students will be able to sing harmonically while balancing their part with those around them.
- Musicality - Students will be able to sing using dynamics, tempo, and phrasing to express the text of the songs.
Activities
(Solo and Ensemble and District Chorus Festival, Community and School Events) Chorus is a performance based class and students will be expected to perform at concerts and choral events.
There will also be many opportunities to take trips with the chorus.

Drama - Theater Arts
In addition to the Drama courses, students will have the opportunity to be actively involved in the Florida High TV production program. Students will receive hands-on training in the Florida High Television studio; developing the skills to produce television programs utilizing resources from video, DVD, audio, and computers.
In the near future, the Drama Program is planning to work in conjunction with the English Program to create some crosscurricular opportunities that will result in the possible production of these courses, Script-writing, Broadcast media, and Debate.

Orchestra
- Playing a stringed instrument enhances a child's quality of life. It provides creative, emotional, and social opportunities and can lead to improvements in academic performance in other areas beyond music.
- Orchestra music, which is considered one of Western culture's greatest treasures, cannot be performed without stringed instruments.
- Contemporary music increasingly relies on strings. Some of the popular musical genres that feature stringed instruments include jazz, country, pop, mariachi, and Tejano.
- According to the American Symphony Orchestra League, opportunities exist for adult musicians in more than 1,500 orchestras in the United States.
- Greats in all fields have played stringed instruments for lifelong fulfillment, counting among them Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and Albert Einstein.
- Playing a stringed instrument enhances the enjoyment of music and leads to a lifelong appreciation of music. An estimated 32 million people currently attend concerts each year in the United States.
- Colleges and universities often need string players for their orchestra and may offer scholarships to qualified students regardless of their intended academic major. Opportunities also abound for undergraduate string education and performance majors. Today, more than 8,000 string teaching positions exist in the public schools alone.
- A good string and orchestra education, as part of a comprehensive fine arts program, is a hallmark of a quality school district.
