Creative Writing
The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop and use fundamental writing and language skills for creative expression in a variety of literary forms. Emphasis will be on development of a personal writing style.
Speech
The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop fundamental skills in formal and informal oral communication. The content will include, but not be limited to, forms of oral communication, techniques of public speaking, research, organization, writing for public speaking and analysis of public speaking.
Journalism
The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop fundamental skills in the production of print or electronic journalistic media. The content includes, but is not limited to, production skills for varied media, history and ethics of journalism, organization and management techniques, technology for research, production and dissemination, and analysis of journalistic media.
This sample planner may be tailored to meet a student's individual needs. All students must take prescribed English, math, social studies, and other course required for a Florida high school diploma (Subject to change to meet new legislation [High School Reform])
