FSU School provides three special programs: Speech/Language, Specific Learning Disabled, and Gifted. Special programs for students who meet eligibility requirements for Speech and Language Program (S/L) or the Specific Learning Disabilities Program (SLD) are organized so that the student receives instruction in the least restrictive environment possible.
The Child Study Team (CST) is the first step in the process of identifying struggling students, determining appropriate interventions and referring for eligibility evaluations. The CST consists of ESE department members, guidance counselors, reading coaches or teachers and the students’ homeroom teachers.
