The Thespian Club of Florida High performed at the District 1 competition in Niceville, Florida over the Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend. The kids did a fantastic job singing and dancing to numbers from "Anything Goes", "Bells are Ringing", "Phantom of the Opera", and "Legally Blonde, The Musical." They received two "Good" and two "Excellent" ratings and will take one of their numbers to the state competition. The kids worked hard to fundraise for the event and practiced long hours together. We are very proud of them They are already planning for next year's competition! Pictured are the members of the club who competed in Niceville.

Message from Dr. Wicker Regarding Swine Flu
Dear Parents and Families,
As we enter the flu season, want to share this important information with you and let you know what we are doing at school to help prevent the spread of the flu.
All teachers are being asked to provide hand sanitizing for students three times each day, morning, mid-day and afternoon. We are also participating in regular conference call updates from the Florida Department of Education on the status of illness in the area as well as recommended precautions.
I have provided some important suggestions for parents below. Please help us control the spread of the flu at school by monitoring your child(ren) closely for the next several months and responding accordingly.
We are all in this together and want everyone to stay healthy!
Please contact our School Nurses, Shirl Streukens or Rob Mayewski, at 245-3990.
Thank you,
Dr. Lynn Wicker

- Analysis Of FSUS School Grades AND Adequate Yearly Progress Report by Dr. Wicker
TO THE PARENTS OF THE FSUS MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS:
As you may already know, Dr. Karen Randolph, FSU College of Social Work, is conducting a study about parent involvement in preventing underage drinking among middle school students. A few weeks ago, she mailed a questionnaire to you seeking your views on underage drinking. THANK YOU to those of you who have completed and returned the questionnaire. If you have not completed your survey yet, please do so as soon as you are able. Your input is very valuable because it will help Dr. Randolph understand how to help parents in preventing underage drinking among their children.
If you did not receive a questionnaire, or it was misplaced, please contact Dr. Randolph at (850) 644-9745 or krandolp@fsu.edu and she will get another one to you immediately.
